Jose Peseiro names 25-man Super Eagles squad for 2023 AFCON (Full Squad)

In the 25-man Super Eagles squad confirmed earlier today, December 29, coach Jose Peseiroune expectedly invited team captain Ahmed Musa, who has never kicked a ball for the team since 2023.

Interestingly, only one domestic player, Enyimba goalkeeper, Leke Ojo, was cut from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Ojo will compete with error-prone Super Eagles’ first-choice goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, who is currently contracted to Omonia FC of Cyprus, and Stanley Nwabeli of South Africa’s Chapa United for the Eagles’ starting eleven.

Other key additions to the squad are Napoli’s Victor Osimhan, vice-captain William Trost-Ekong, Alex Iwobi, and Samuel Chukwueze.
