National Boxing Championship: Maryam of KPT wins the first gold medal, In the Chairman KPT 40th Men’s and 4th Women’s National Boxing Championship held under the auspices of Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) and with the support of Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Maryam of KPT won the first gold medal in women’s flyweight.

In the women’s flyweight final, KPT’s Maryam defeated Army’s Ramsha 4-1 to win the first gold medal of the championship.

In the semi-final matches, Navy’s Tanveer Ahmed defeated WAPDA’s Karar Hussain in men’s middleweight, Army’s Gulzeb defeated Balochistan’s Ziaur Rahman in men’s welterweight, and Army’s Saiful Manan walked over Sindh’s Zahid Pathan in the second semi-final. After which they made it to the finals.

In the men’s 80kg semi-final matches, Hasnain of the Navy defeated Haris Rasheed of KPT and Zeeshan Ali of the Army defeated Mehmoodul Hasan of PAF 5-0 to reach the finals.

In the five-day national championship, 13 men’s and 7 women’s weight category competitions are scheduled.
