It should be noted that Pakistan Hockey Team Captain Imad Butt revealed on Monday that Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has not been paying salaries to the players for the last 6 months.

The Men in Green failed to secure a place for the 2024 Paris Olympics, losing 3-2 to New Zealand in the qualifier’s third/fourth place match on Sunday.

In an Instagram post, Emad thanked the fans for their support and emphasized that the players have to face the lack of facilities while pursuing the passion of playing the game.

He wrote, “Thank you all for supporting Pakistan Hockey. Unfortunately, we could not qualify for the Olympics and it is heartbreaking for me and my team and my nation.”

“I want to tell you one thing the boys have not been paid for the last six months. They are without any facilities, without government support, without any sponsors, without media coverage and without proper professional system,” he added. Play without.”

Emad stressed that he has been facing these issues for the past 10 years and questioned how long he would take it.

The boys are giving their blood and sweat, they played their hearts out for Pakistan but the way we were treated is total injustice. Hockey is our national game so please treat us like national heroes,” he maintained.

Emad concluded by asking for support as he is motivated to do good for the country in the future.

It should be remembered that Pak has failed to qualify for the Olympics for the third time in a row. The three-time Olympic gold medalist also failed to secure a place in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.

Germany beat Pakistan 4–0 in the semi-finals to earn a vital point to qualify for the final four, drawing 3–3 against Malaysia.

After losing the first match against Great Britain 6-1 on Monday, Pakistan beat China 2-0 to get their first win in the competition.

From the pool matches, Pakistan finished second in Pool A behind Great Britain (nine points). Pakistan had four, China three, and Malaysia only one point.
