Will Haris Rauf play T20 World Cup 2024?

Haris Rauf’s road to T20 World Cup:

Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf is currently on the sidelines after suffering a shoulder injury during Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine earlier this year. Due to the injury, Harris also had to miss the ongoing 5-match T20I series against New Zealand on home soil. However, Haris Rauf has now completed his rehabilitation and has also started gym training.

The right-hander is on the selection committee’s radar for the T20 World Cup starting in June but will be keeping a close eye on how he bowls during the practice sessions in the coming days. Addressing a press conference in Lahore earlier this month, Pakistan selector Wahab Riaz said that Haris Rauf “may be fit for the England series”.

The deadline for submitting squads for the T20 World Cup is May 1, but changes can be made up to the 25th of next month.

Any change in the team after that would require the approval of the International Cricket Council (ICC). The Pakistani team will play 3 matches against Ireland and 4 against England away from home next month.

Before the T20 World Cup from England, the Pakistani squad will leave for America. The coaching staff of the Pakistan Men’s team will also be announced after the conclusion of the series against New Zealand.

Former South African batsman Gary Kirsten and former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie have been finalized by the PCB for the roles of white ball and red ball head coach of the national men’s team respectively.
