Abrar Ahmed broke Fazal Mehmood’s 70-year-old Test record, Pakistan’s riddle incentive Abrar Ahmed on Sunday came to the first-ever bowler from the country to get 15 lattices in the first two Tests of his career.

The youth, who took 11 lattices on his debut Test in Multan, got four lattices in England’s first innings at the Karachi National Stadium, taking his total lattices census to 15 in two Tests.

He also broke the 70- time-old record of Pakistan’s fabulous leader Fazal Mahmood surpassing him to jump on top of the list of Pakistani bowlers with utmost lattices after two Tests.

Fazal in the first two Tests — both against India in 1952 — had amassed 14 lattices.

Abrar has one further bowling innings left in the Karachi Test to increase his census of lattices in two Tests.

Anyhow of what his census totals up to, it’ll remain the most stylish ever added-up lattices by a Pakistani in two Tests.

Other Pakistanis in this list include Zahid Mehmood and Arif Butt( 13 all), Yasir Shah, Wasim Akram, and Mohammad Zahid( 12), while Iqbal Qasim and Abdur Rehman had 11 lattices each after the first two Tests.

The world record for utmost lattices after two Tests is with India’s Narendra Hirwani, who had taken 24 lattices in the first two Tests in 1988.
