Asia Cup 2023:Bangladesh and Sri Lanka give the green signal for a new hybrid model, Both countries have no objection to playing the first round in Pakistan.

The cricket boards of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have given assurances to the PCB via email, while BCCI and the PCB have not been in direct contact so far.

An internal meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is expected in Dubai in the next couple of days.

ACC chief Jay Shah will also attend the meeting, which will discuss the newly proposed hybrid model of PCB.

The final meeting will be called after the internal meeting of the Asian Cricket Council, the final meeting may be called in the last week of this month.

PCB wants to hold Asia Cup in UAE due to gate money, ticket sales in UAE can generate more financial benefit than Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

After approval of the hybrid model, the PCB can also show flexibility at the neutral venue.

PCB will have a cheaper neutral venue in UAE than Sri Lanka in terms of logistics, another option is to use Sri Lanka’s Dambulla and Palikele stadiums as neutral venues.
