Babar Azam’s downgrade in ICC’s new Test rankings, The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released a new Test ranking in which Pakistan captain Babar Azam has been demoted from fifth to sixth place.

Kane Williamson of New Zealand has climbed one spot to the top. Joe Root of England slid to fifth place, while Steve Smith of Australia rose to the alternate position.

In the opening Test of the Ashes and World Test Championship series, Steve Smith struck a century. India’s Ravichandran Ashwin remains at number one in the Test bowler rankings.

Australian captain Pete Cummins has moved up two places to the alternate position while South Africa’s Rabada is in the third position. England’s James Anderson has moved down two places from alternate to fourth place, while Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi has bettered by one place in the ranking.
