After defeating Sri Lanka in the 33rd match of the Cricket World Cup, India has reached the first position in the table with 14 points after playing seven matches, while Pakistan is in the fifth position with 6 points after winning three matches out of seven.

After India, South Africa have won six matches and are second with 12 points. Australia has won four out of six matches and is in third place with 8 points.

New Zealand has won four out of seven matches and is in fourth position with 8 points. Pakistan is in the fifth position with 6 points after winning three out of seven matches.

Afghanistan has won three matches out of six and is in sixth place with 6 points. Sri Lanka has won two out of seven matches and is ranked seventh with 4 points.

The Netherlands have won two out of six matches and are eighth with four points, while England and Bangladesh are ninth and tenth with two points each.

What are Pakistan’s chances of going to the semi-finals?

Pakistan and New Zealand have two matches remaining in the mega event and both teams will play each other on November 4 in Bengaluru.

Pakistan will have to win their next two matches to qualify for the semi-finals. Pakistani fans have to pray for Sri Lanka’s victory in the match against New Zealand.

However, if New Zealand wins one of their remaining two matches and Pakistan wins both matches, the semi-final between the two teams will be decided on net run rate.

Pakistan will play a match against New Zealand on November 4 and England on November 11.

Similarly, another way for Pakistan to reach the semi-finals is for Australia to lose their remaining three matches and for Pakistan to win their remaining two matches anyway.

If Australia loses two of their remaining three matches and wins one match and Pakistan wins their remaining two matches, the semi-final between the Kangaroos and the Green Shirts will be decided on the basis of net run rate.

It should be noted that Australia has to play their last three matches against England, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh respectively.
