The decision to retain Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn until World Cup

The decision to retain Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn until World Cup, Amid rumors of Mickey Arthur and Grant Bradburn’s exit, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to retain foreign coaches till the ICC World Cup 2023.

According to sources, former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who was recently appointed as the head of the cricket committee, has said that it is unwise to suddenly change two coaches if Najam Sethi made wrong decisions.

“I am against foreign coaches but it would be unwise to fire the coaches immediately,” he said. The Cricket Board appointed Mickey Arthur as “director” in April, tasked with designing, formulating, and overseeing the strategies behind the Pakistan men’s team.

Mickey then brought in Arthur Bradburn as head coach for the next two years.

Ever since Zaka Ashraf took over as the PCB chief after Najam Sethi’s departure, there were rumors that the board’s foreign coaching panel might be removed due to Misbah’s disfavor.

Now, according to sources, Misbah has changed his mind and has reportedly said that he should get time. Their performance will be assessed after the World Cup.

Former Punjab Chief Secretary Naveed Akram Cheema is not being considered for World Cup manager. Naveed Akram is known for his strict attitude and disciplined many senior players during his tenure as team manager.

However, in the meeting of the cricket committee, it was revealed that there is no player in the current team who would create problems for the manager or the team management.

The good performance of the Pakistan team has also prevented the new administration from taking extreme decisions.
