Glenn Maxwell broken Fakhar Zaman record

Glenn Maxwell scored one of the greatest innings in World Cup history with an unbeaten double century as Australia beat Afghanistan by three wickets at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, India on Tuesday.

The epic win helped Australia qualify directly for the semi-finals of the World Cup as they are now third on the points table with 12 points and one match to play.

The 35-year-old remained unbeaten on 201 runs off 128 balls with the help of 21 fours and 10 sixes. Maxwell, known as ‘Big Show’, held the record for the highest score while chasing in ODIs.

Earlier this record was held by Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman who scored 193 runs against South Africa in Johannesburg in 2021.

Australia’s Shane Watson is third in this list after scoring 185 not out against Bangladesh in 2011, former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is fourth after scoring 183* against Sri Lanka in 2005, while Virat Kohli scored 183 against Pakistan in 2012. They are at the fifth position in this list by scoring.
