Mohammad Haris has crossed an important milestone in T20 cricket, B Low Candy secured their place in the LPL 2023 playoffs after a thrilling eight-run win over Jaffna Kings, thanks to Mohammad Haris’ explosive innings of 81 runs.
Electing to bat first, B-Love Candy reached a respectable total of 178/8 in 20 overs, with a dominant innings from Harris.
Harris hit 10 fours and two sixes in his top score of 81 off 51 balls. Harris also crossed the milestone of 1000 runs in T20 matches during his brilliant innings of 81 runs.
Since his debut in October 2020, he has had the highest strike rate among Pakistani batsmen with over 1000 T20 runs.
His strike rate is an impressive 148.75, followed by Asif Ali at 145.42, Saeem Ayub at 144.75, Azam Khan at 144.05, and Khushdil Shah at 143.42.
Chasing 179, Jaffna Kings fell by just eight runs, reaching 170/6 despite Shoaib Malik’s half-century. Shoaib Malik along with Chris Lynn and David Miller attempted a comeback but the B-Lo Candy bowlers kept the pressure on led by Angelo Mathews (3/10).
A crucial partnership between Thisara Perera and Malik was broken by Nuwan Pradeep and despite Malik’s unbeaten 55 off 37 balls, Jaffna Kings could not achieve the target.
With this win, B-Love Candy secured a place in the playoffs of the LPL, who are second with eight points from 6 matches.
