This month 3 T20 series between Pakistan and Afghanistan will be played in Sharjah, Pakistan Cricket Board is planning to give opportunities to new players for this series.

In order to build a strong and balanced team for the future, PCB has decided to try out the young and talented players who have excelled in the Pakistan Super League 2023 in the short format T20 cricket.

The 3-match T20 series against Afghanistan will be played in Sharjah on March 24, 26, and 27, for which National Selection Committee Chairman Haroon Rasheed will announce the squad in the next few days.

In the series against Afghanistan, it has been proposed to rest several players including captain Babar Azam, and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, while there is a strong possibility that the responsibility of leading the team will be given to left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi.

It should be remembered that in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Shaheen Shah Afridi has shown excellent skills as a captain for Lahore Qalandars.

Three wicketkeepers Haseebullah (Peshawar Zalmi), Azam Khan (Islamabad United), and Mohammad Haris (Peshawar Zalmi) are expected to be included in the Pakistan squad for the T20 series against Afghanistan.

Apart from this, Saeem Ayub of Peshawar Zalmi, who gained everyone’s attention with his excellent performance in Pakistan Super League 2023, fast bowler Ehsanullah of Multan Sultans, and all-rounder Faheem Ashraf of Islamabad United in the national team of Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim. There is a strong possibility of return.
