Promotion of Shan Masood to PCB Central Contract List
PCB Central has decided to upgrade the category of Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood from D to B in the PCB Central Contract List.
The decision has been taken in line with the board’s policy that if a player with a PCB central contract below A or B category is made the captain, he will have a contract. Upgraded to Category B for his captaincy tenure.
Shaan Masood, 34, was named Test captain on 15 November 2023 until the end of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle.
The left-handed batsman has scored 1,597 runs in 30 Tests and will lead Pakistan in his first assignment as captain in the three-match series against Australia starting December 14.
The first Test of the series will be played in Perth from December 14 to 18. The second Test will be played in Melbourne from December 26 to 30, while the third Test will be played in Sydney from January 3 to 7.
