PSL 2024: Players not picked by any team

Drafting for the ninth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2024) has come to an end and this season there are many players, including international stars, in whom no franchise has shown interest.

PSL 2024: Internationals

Sharjeel Khan: The aggressive opener known for his explosive batting was surprisingly dropped despite his experience and T20 prowess.

Ahmed Shehzad: Another experienced opener, Shehzad’s struggles in recent seasons may have contributed to his being sold without him.

Umar Akmal: The talented wicketkeeper-batsman, known for his inconsistent performances, has not found a taker this year.

Sohail Tanveer: The veteran left-arm fast bowler, known for his swing bowling, may be nearing the end of his career, leading to his exit.

Apart from them, Danish Aziz, Mubasher Khan, Arshad Iqbal, and Muhammad Harira, who played PSL in the emerging players category in previous years, are also not part of any team in PSL 2024.

Among the international players, the names of Afghanistan’s Rehmanullah Gurbaz and Mujeebur Rahman were also included in the drafting, but these two players were not selected by any team.

Australia’s Ashton Agar, England’s Ben Duckett, Sri Lanka’s Mahesh Tekshana, and Dasun Shanaka have also not been included in their squad by any PSL franchise.

Acording to Babar Azam

Babar Azam: It may sound like a mistake, but the PSL 2024 draft system allows for supplementary rounds where players who are not initially picked can be picked later. Azam was likely passed over due to his high value, but could still be picked up in the supplementary round.

Imad Wasim: The all-rounder, known for his spin bowling and hard-hitting batting, had another surprising mistake.

Wahab Riaz: The veteran fast bowler, known for his pace and aggression, may be on the decline, which accounts for his absence in the early draft.

Fakhar Zaman: The hard-hitting opener, known for his ability to hit sixes, could be another player picked in the supplementary round.

Drafting of PSL 2024 was held in Lahore where 485 players from all over the world participated in it.

The PSL 2024 draft is a complicated process, and players can still be picked in the supplementary rounds. Additionally, some players may have opted out of the draft due to personal reasons or injuries.

The ninth edition of PSL will start on February 17, 2024, while the final of the mega event will be played on March 17 in Karachi.
