Umar Gul called Sarfaraz Ahmed a better captain than Babar Azam, Former Pakistan fast bowler Umar Gul believes that Sarfraz Ahmed is a better captain than Babar Azam.
Umar Gul also picked Mohammad Amir as his choice for left-arm fast bowlers over Shaheen Shah Afridi. Mr. Gul, when asked to pick the better captain between Sarfraz and Babar, replied that in terms of captaincy, Sarfraz Ahmed.
Under Sarfaraz’s captaincy, Pakistan won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017. Under his captaincy, Pakistan also won 11 consecutive T20 series.
Sarfaraz was dropped from the captaincy ahead of the 2019 tour of Australia due to poor form. It should be remembered that in 2020, Babar Azam was entrusted with the duties of captaining the Pakistan Test team in place of Azhar Ali.
Babar Azam’s appointment came after his impressive form as a batsman across all formats of the game.
