Eric Dier has arrived in Germany to join Bayern Munich

Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier has arrived in Germany to complete his move to German powerhouses Bayern Munich in a €4m deal, reported Sky Sports on Wednesday.

Eric Dier fell out of favor with manager Ange Postecoglou at the North London club and played just four matches all season, before being told by the Australian that he could leave the club.

The Englishman will undergo a medical at the Bavarian club after which an official announcement will be made and if things go according to plan, Eric Dier will soon be reunited with his former Tottenham team-mate Harry Kane.

From experience, we know that things can go wrong at the last second. He [Eric Dier] is in Munich and we are trying to finalize the deal and find another replacement in the defensive position in our squad. But I’d like to wait before the ink dries,” Thomas Tuchel said of Eric Dier in a presser.

“I think he’s more or less adept in a central defensive role. He’s played as a holding midfielder in the past. He can play as part of a back four and a back three so we can free up Leon Goretzka in midfield. So he doesn’t have to switch between playing as a No.8 and going deep.

“We’re still focusing on other positions and we’ll see if anything else happens.”

Eric Dier will be replaced by Rado Dragosan

Eric Dier will be replaced at Spurs by Genoa central defender Rado Dragosan, who was signed by the north London club in a £25million deal.

On the other hand, David Spence, a right-back who fell out of favor and was recalled from his season-long loan at Leeds, is expected to move in the opposite direction.

Dragosan’s potential deal was thrown into uncertainty on Tuesday night after Bayern Munich made a late formal offer for the Romanian.

However, Dragoson opted to join Spurs, leading to Bayern renewing their interest in Tottenham’s Dier.
