Islamabad United manager Rehanul Haq is likely to be appointed as the manager of the national team

Islamabad United manager Rehanul Haq is likely to be appointed as the manager of the national team, Mickey Arthur’s early appointment as Pakistan’s national team director of cricket operations will also include the administration of a new-look national team.

According to sources, Islamabad United manager Rehan-ul-Haq is one of the new appointments that are likely. Rehan is likely to join the national team as a manager but his role is said to be more than that of a traditional manager.

Rehaan’s role will be much more influential than that of a team manager, which will include assisting Mickey in team strategy and creating a team atmosphere.

His role is defined as the chief of staff of the national team. Rehan-ul-Haq has been associated with Islamabad United since the inaugural edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

He works alongside Hasan Cheema as the team manager and both have been instrumental in Islamabad United’s success over the years.

Rehan and Hasan Cheema were credited with playing a key role in Islamabad’s title win in PSL 1 and 3. Rehan’s data-driven approach and reliance on modern cricketing techniques have been a major reason for United’s success in the tournament and the new PCB management hopes the franchise will carry over its success at the T20 level to the international arena.

Will translate well. The 2-time PSL winner will replace Mansoor Rana, who served as the national team manager for nearly four years.
