Which was the cap that Lionel Messi wore to lift the World Cup? Thirty- six times have passed since Argentina last culminated as world titleholders and at the Lusail Stadium moment, in dramatic fashion, Leo Messi and the Albiceleste lifted their third jewel after a whirlwind of a final where both Messi and France striker Mbappé participated in the spotlight.

Just before lifting the jewel on the Lusail Stadium tribune, Messi entered a striking black and golden garment from the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The item of apparel is known as a ‘ bisht ’, a cape that’s substantially worn by the Emir along with Qatari ministers and superstars on Qatar’s National Day( which was on Sunday).

The gesture was one of recognition for Leo Messi, who picked up the only major title he’d yet to win.

The cape is also used by Qatari families for special and important occasions and it’s not uncommon for a father to puts the garment on his son to celebrate marriage and only the Emir of Qatar wears it all the time.

The ‘best’ garment is generally worn over the thoub, a kind of tunic that reaches down to the ankle and generally has long sleeves.
