Colorado Avalanche Defeat St. Louis Blues 4-3

Colorado Avalanche defeated St. Louis Blues 4-3 on Thursday night at Ball Arena in Denver. The Avalanche scored three goals in the first period to take a 3-1 lead, and they held on for the victory.

Mikko Rantanen opened the scoring for the Avalanche just over two minutes into the game. He was assisted by Devon Toews and Cale Makar.

The Avalanche made it 2-0 just over five minutes into the game when Nazem Kadri scored. He was assisted by Artturi Lehkonen and Valeri Nichushkin.

The Blues cut the lead to 3-1 just under 12 minutes into the game when Ivan Barbashev scored. He was assisted by Vladimir Tarasenko and Brandon Saad.

The Avalanche made it 4-1 just over two minutes into the second period when Nathan MacKinnon scored. He was assisted by Josh Manson and J.T. Compher. The Blues cut the lead to 4-2 just under 10 minutes into the second period when Jordan Kyrou scored. He was assisted by Ryan O’Reilly and Pavel Buchnevich.

The Blues made it 4-3 just over 13 minutes into the third period when Justin Faulk scored. He was assisted by Robert Thomas and David Perron. However, the Avalanche held on for the victory.

Avalanche goaltender Darcy Kuemper made 27 saves in the victory. Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington made 23 saves in the defeat.

The Avalanche are now 4-1-0 on the season, while the Blues are now 1-2-1 on the season.
