Big upset in semifinals of ITF Pakistan PPL, World Junior Tennis Championship, There were major upsets in the semifinals of the ITF Pakistan PPL-Syed Dilawar Abbas World Junior Tennis Championship.

A large number of players (boys and girls) from Turkey, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Thailand, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Romania, Singapore, China, Poland, South Korea, Canada, and Pakistan are participating in the event.

A major upset came when fourth seed Vlada Gorileva of Russia defeated top seed Zeynep Erbakan of Turkey 1-6 6-2 7-5 in a three-set thriller.

In the second semi-final of the girls’ event, Korea’s Yejun Lee won her match and defeated Turkey’s Daphne Erbakan 6-1, 6-0 to qualify for the girls’ singles final.

In the Wise Singles semi-finals, unseeded Yuan Lu of China qualified for the final after defeating his opponent CM Atlas of Turkey who withdrew due to illness.

In the other semi-final, Thailand’s 6th seed Kamunpanyakorn Thadpong defeated Turkey’s Bogra Okuk in straight sets 6-2.6-0. DGPSB Mansoor Ahmad Khan along with his team SB visited the PTF complex to watch some matches.

He appreciated the high standard of tennis and also interacted with the players and parents and appreciated the efforts of PTF to organize international tournaments.
