Nick Kyrgios pulls out of Wimbledon 2023 due to injury

Nick Kyrgios pulls out of Wimbledon 2023 due to injury, Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn from Wimbledon 2023 due to a wrist injury.

The 28-year-old Kyrgios lost to Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic in the final last year and has only played one tournament this year due to injury.

Kyrgios said in a message on photo and video sharing platform Instagram last evening that it is with great sadness that I have to withdraw from Wimbledon this year.

“I tried my best to be fit and able to step on the Wimbledon courts again after the surgery, but during my return I felt some pain in my wrist,” he said.

“I had a careful scan on my injured wrist which still needs some treatment, I haven’t had enough time to manage it before Wimbledon, I’ll be back and as usual I’ll be back,” he added. I appreciate the support of all my fans.

It may be recalled that Kyrgios was seeded 30th in the mega event and had to face Belgium’s David Goffin in the opening round.
