Under-19 World Cup, Pakistan defeated Ireland

Pakistan defeated Ireland by 3 wickets in the ongoing Under-19 World Cup in South Africa.

The Super Six stage match was played between Pakistan and Ireland in the South African city of Pushfostroom. Pakistan won the toss and invited Ireland to bat first.

Pakistan achieved the target of 182 runs in the 44th over at the loss of 7 wickets. On behalf of Pakistan, Ahmed Hasan scored an unbeaten 57 runs, while captain Saad Baig scored 25 runs, Obaid Shah scored 25 runs, Azan Owais scored 21 runs, Shahzeb Khan scored 11 runs and Haroon Arshad scored 8 runs.

Shamil Hussain scored 7 runs, Arafat Minhas returned to the pavilion scoring 3 runs while Ali Asfand remained not out scoring 9 runs.

On behalf of Ireland, Harry Dyer took 4 wickets while Robin Wilson, Oliver Ryley, and Jordan Neill took 1, 1 wicket each.

Earlier, batting first on Pakistan’s invitation, the Ireland team was bowled out for 181 runs in 48.3 overs. John McNally scored 53 and Harry Dyer scored 31 runs for Ireland.

On behalf of Pakistan, Obaid Shah took 3 wickets, Amir Hasan, Ali Raza, Ahmed Raza 2, 2 while Haroon Arshad took one wicket.
