National basketball team trials will begin May 5 at the four-nation tournament, The Pakistan Basketball Federation has decided to hold trials from May 5 for the selection of the national basketball team to participate in the four-nation championship.

According to the associate secretary of the Pakistan Basketball Federation Oj Zahoor, the top players nominated by the divisions, provinces, and departments affiliated to the Basketball Federation will participate in the three-day trials that will continue till May 7 at the Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad.

Oj Zahoor said that in the first phase of trials, the trials of divisional players will be held on May 5 and 6, while in the second phase, the trials of departmental players will be held on May 6 and 7.

He said that a national selection committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Colonel (retd) Shujaat Ali Rana, while the members include Muhammad Riaz Malik, DSP Malik Ijaz, and Maudood Jafri.

The national selection committee will shortlist the names of the players for the training camp of the national basketball team after the three-day trials of the players.

According to Oj Zahoor, the Pakistan Basketball Federation is going to participate in the four-nation championship held in Maldives this year, for the preparation of which, a full training and coaching plan has been prepared for the national team, which was formally announced by the Secretary General of the Pakistan Basketball Federation, Khalid, Bashir will do.
